Thanksgiving - November 26th
Yin Yoga: A Practice of Gratitude & Thanks
with Maryanne Fiadino
"To speak gratitude is courteous & pleasant; to enact gratitude is generous & noble; but to live gratitude is to touch Heaven."
~Johannes A. Gaertner
As the true meaning behind Thanksgiving was a pure expression of gratitude & thanks for the harvest at hand, we too must remember the most basic and rudimentary...yet essential necessities of life that most of us take for granted...the harvest at hand.
Today, your harvest may not be what it once was - and tomorrow it may change yet again. Our job, our dharma, is to find the beauty & grace that lies within and simply be thankful. As Buddha once said, "Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die: so, let us all be thankful."
In this ever changing and fast-paced world we are in - when messages must be instantaneous, people are eating meals in their cars, and the speed of our achievements can only be matched or outdone by the frequency of our desires - A Day of Gratitude & Thanks - should perhaps be the one holiday we celebrate more than once a year.
Please come join us in beginning our day of Gratitude & Thanks with a 90 minute journey on your mat with Yin Yoga. You can't give what you don't have; gratitude begins with the compassion from within. Our Yin Yoga practice will be a combination of gentle quieting postures complimented with heart openers to elevate the soul.
